HFTP and CMAA Release the Expanded and Improved Uniform System of Financial Reporting for Clubs, 6th Edition
AUSTIN, TEXAS; The sixth edition of the Uniform System of Financial Reporting for Clubs, a joint collaboration between Hospitality Financial and Technology Professionals (HFTP®) and the Club Managers Association of America (CMAA®), has just been released with a number of new features. This Uniform System of Financial Reporting for Clubs is a club accounting resource for club managers, officers and club controllers that establishes standardized formats and account classifications to guide club financial executives in preparing and presenting financial information. However, unlike previous editions, the sixth edition is more than double the size and features many new and useful additions to help make it the most effective and informative version to date.
"When we embarked on the revision of the USFRC, it was very clear to all of us that the key to success would be in ease of use, clarity and consistency," said HFTP International President and CFO of the Hartford Golf Club, Wendy Zurstadt, CHAE, CHTP, CPA. "We strove to set up a system that would drive standards to allow for benchmarking and solid comparisons among different types of clubs. While we focused on private not-for-profit city and country clubs, we provided the tools to allow for flexibility for other clubs. This is a book that will be used, not shelved."
This new edition, which is now available through the Educational Institute of the American Hotel and Lodging Association (AH&LA), was expanded in order to include some major changes. The recommendations set forth in the sixth edition are based on a consensus of club industry financial executives, public accounting authorities and club general managers, and are consistent with generally accepted accounting principles. This edition includes the addition of several recommended schedules, explanation of virtually all line items on the recommended schedules, an expense dictionary, illustrated statements and schedules, a taxation issues section and a widely expanded accounting numbering system that provides detailed accounts in both numerical and alphabetical order.
To order the sixth edition of the Uniform System of Financial Reporting for Clubs, which costs $49.95 US for HFTP members and $59.95 US for non-members, contact the Educational Institute of AH&LA at (800) 752-4567 or (517) 372-8800 or contact CMAA at (800) 847-6977 or (301) 705-9940.
