Radisson Blu Mammy Yoko Freetown, Sierra Leone, is delighted to announce their partnership with a major documentary film production in Sierra Leone by multi-Emmy and BAFTA award winning production company Insight TWI.

The documentary, titled Sierra Leone: An Artist's Journey, is the story of Charlie Haffner, the most celebrated theatre director in Sierra Leone — a West African nation stricken by poverty and civil war.

Charlie is embarking on a mission to stage the most ambitious play in Sierra Leone's history — a play he hopes will inspire a renewed spirit of national unity.

The documentary, produced by the multi-Emmy and BAFTA winning team at Insight TWI, will follow Charlie as he sets out to create a play unlike anything his people have seen before, a play to inspire those thinking of migrating to Europe to stay and help rebuild their nation.

Charlie's play and the documentary about its creation are intended to unite the people of Sierra Leone around a shared sense of their past and a hopeful vision of their future — an effort which Radisson Blu Hotel, Mammy Yoko Freetown, Sierra Leone and Carlson Rezidor are proud and honored to support.

Radisson Blu Hotel, Mammy Yoko Freetown, Sierra Leone is hosting the film crew and working with the film's producers to enhance the film's cultural and economic impact. Radisson Blu played a critical role in 2014, for which it was globally recognized for its crisis communication plan and the support provided by the teams during the Ebola virus epidemic. A month after the Radisson Blu Mammy Yoko Hotel opened its doors in Freetown, Sierra Leone, the first case of Ebola was diagnosed in the country. Rezidor implemented a series of safety and security measures to prevent any of its staff or guests being infected. The Group also ensured transparent, continuous and regular communication with its employees, the media and relevant stakeholders to raise awareness about prevention methods and to clarify the myths surrounding the outbreak.

The Radisson Blu Mammy Yoko Hotel, Freetown was identified as the safest environment to stay or conduct business during the epidemic. It became the most trusted location in Sierra Leone for key media, international aid workers and government officials.

Johan Klang, General Manager of Radisson Blu Mammy Yoko hotel, said, "We are part of Sierra Leonne's history and its future. We feel privileged to support Insight TWI on producing this phenomenal documentary to showcase the best of the beautiful people of Sierra Leonne, their struggles and their strengths and their incredible Yes I Can! spirit which mirrors our own."

Jonathan Ossoff, Managing Director of Insight TWI, said, "We're honored to receive such significant support from Radisson Blu Hotel, Mammy Yoko Freetown, Sierra Leone. When most people hear the words 'Sierra Leone', they imagine poverty, war and disease. This documentary will show those people a side of Sierra Leone they've never even imagined. We hope it will bring not only hope and inspiration but also tourism and jobs."

The film crew includes renowned Sierra Leonean journalist Sorious Samura of Insight TWI, Nick Fraser of the BBC (executive producer of Oscar winner Man on Wire), Grammy winner Daniel Platzman of the multi-platinum rock band Imagine Dragons, director Clive Patterson of Insight TWI, and executive producer Ron McCullagh of Insight TWI.
