Salter Brothers Acquires Luxury Boutique Hotel & Estate Portfolio in New South Wales, Australia

Australian-based global fund manager Salter Brothers Asset Management Pty Limited (“Salter Brothers”) has acquired the Australia-based Escarpment Group’s collection of luxury boutique hotels and estates for a speculated price of AUD115 million. These include the 89-key Lilianfels Resort & Spa, the 84-keyThe Hydro Majestic Hotel, the 14-key Echoes Boutique Hotel, the 31-key Parklands Country Gardens & Lodges, and the 19-key The Convent Hunter Valley. The five acquired properties are unique to the Blue Mountains and Hunter Valley regions in New South Wales, Australia. Following the completion of this acquisition, the number of properties under its management will increase to 36.

Blackstone Group Acquires the Former Hiyori Hotel Tokyo Ginza EAST

US-based investment fund, Blackstone Group (“BG”), has acquired the former Hiyori Hotel Tokyo Ginza EAST (“HHTGE”) from Japan-based Sun Frontier Fudousan Co., Ltd. at an undisclosed sum. Together with two other luxury business hotels, namely the 193-key Courtyard by Marriott Osaka Hommachi and the 203-key The Chapter Kyoto Tribute Portfolio Hotel, BG’s Japan portfolio is now estimated to be JPY26 billion. The former HHTGE has 135 rooms and is located 4-minute away from Takaracho Station. Presently, the HHTGE is in the midst renovations and will be rebranded to ibis Styles Tokyo Ginza East in June.

Champion Technology has Sold 48.45% of Metropolitan Yijing Hotel for HKD45.9 Million

Hong Kong-based Champion Technology Holdings Limited (“Champion Technology”) has sold 48.45% of Metropolitan Yijing Hotel to an independent merchant Mr Chu Ying Man for HKD45.9 million. Situated at 6 East Huanshi Road, Tangxia Town, Dongguan City, Guangdong Province, the property is located on a parcel of land with a total site area of approximately 25,235 square metres. The 253-key property has a gross floor area of approximately 38,373 square metres, and features five food and beverage outlets, an outdoor swimming pool, a fitness centre, a tennis court and a recreation centre.

Queensland Government has Announced to Invest AUD9.2 Million to Kickstart Ecotourism Projects

The Queensland Government is investing AUD9.2 million in six projects in Queensland under the Activate Ecotourism Infrastructure initiative. The six ecotourism initiatives range from refurbishments of natural retreats to nature-based luxury glamping pods. The total investment is estimated to attract almost 200,000 visitors to enjoy more of Queensland’s great lifestyle. Furthermore, it is expected that the entire project will support 338 construction and 235 operational jobs. Investment in ecotourism is a key element of Queensland’s “Toward Tourism 2032” roadmap which aims to generate up to AUD44 billion in tourism revenues.
