Accor UK gifts £61,000 to fund apprenticeship scheme at Brewhouse & Kitchen
Independent British pub group and brewery will welcome 10 new apprentices across its UK branches
Accor, the world leading hospitality group, today announced it has partnered with microbrewery and British pub group, Brewhouse & Kitchen, to gift £61,000 of Apprenticeship Levy to fund the development of 10 apprenticeships across Brewhouse’s 22 venues in the UK.
The apprenticeship funds will invest in one Level 2 Hospitality Team Member, one Level 5 Operational/Departmental Manager, two Level 4 Brewers, two Level 4 Hospitality Managers, one Level 3 Senior Production Chef, one Level 2 Commis Chef and two Level 3 Hospitality Supervisors, supporting Brewhouse & Kitchen’s mission to have at least two apprentices in each of its venues by the end of 2024.
Brewhouse & Kitchen launched in 2013 with its first Brewpub in Portsmouth, and now has 22 Brewpubs across the UK. Each of its pubs has a microbrewery onsite, paired with one of its talented head brewers whose expertise guides guests as they sample the brews made on-site. The company is a member of the 5% Club, meaning it commits to always having over 5% of its workforce as apprentices. The business has been previously recognised for its commitment to supporting apprentices and won two awards for Best Apprenticeship Strategy at the Springboard Awards and the British Institute of Innkeeping National Innovation in Training Awards in 2023.
Accor chose to allocate its remaining funds to another company within the hospitality sector and selected Brewhouse & Kitchen because of its diverse workforce and the variety of apprenticeship roles across the business. With venues throughout the UK, the levy can help encourage recruitment for people outside of major cities and welcome them to the world of hospitality, particularly in the pub sector which is at the heart of the community for so many across the country. The gifted apprenticeship levy will assist the British pub chain to support its colleagues and help them to achieve their career aspirations.

The apprenticeship sector is important to Accor, with the company offering thousands of apprenticeships in its properties over the years across the UK.
