BONITA SPRINGS, Fla. / Sept. 26, 2001--Hyatt Regency Coconut Point Resort & Spa opened this week in Bonita Springs, Florida. It is the newest golf and spa resort in Southwest Florida. Built on 26 acres and in a region that is environmentally rich yet relatively uncommercialized, the 450-room full-service resort will focus on nature-based tourism and will offer eco-tours, fly-fishing, bird watching and a private beach island. Opening rates will range from $190 to $495.

Located approximately 15 minutes from Southwest Florida International Airport and 20 minutes from downtown Naples, the resort will also feature tennis facilities, an 18-hole golf course designed by Senior PGA Tour champion Raymond Floyd (an additional nine holes are planned for completion in 2003), a 19,000 square-foot full-service spa, a 5,000 square-foot lagoon with water slide and lap pool and a Camp Hyatt program with learning activities. The resort also has more than 73,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor meeting space.

The culinary delights will include Tanglewood, a fine-dining restaurant overlooking a reflecting pool and terrace, and Tarpon Bay, a specialty restaurant offering the freshest seafood. Casual options include The Belvedere Room, featuring light snacks and cocktails and The Marketplace, offering sandwiches and salads.
