What is an Expert?

An “Expert” is any one of the knowledgeable industry insiders who are invited to contribute to a Panel. A Panel will therefore have several Experts – somewhere between 10 and 25, usually.
To assure a diverse range of opinion, each Panel needs to approach a large number of Experts to weigh in on the Viewpoint. So we are continuously building our pool of potential Experts in many key areas of the business.

What am I supposed to do as an Expert?

You’ve been contacted by the Panel leader – what we call the panel’s “Champ” – because we believe that your opinion on the “Viewpoint” (included in the invitation) would be a valuable addition to the panel.
All we ask of you is to send us a comment related to the Viewpoint. This comment – which we call a “View” – can be whatever you like: it can be a subjective, heartfelt reaction or opinion, agreeing or disagreeing with the Viewpoint; or it can add value by providing some objective facts or details illuminating an aspect of the Viewpoint without necessarily taking a stand for it or against it. The main thing we are after is substance. Our goal is that when all the Views have been collected and the Panel is published, readers will be enlightened by the many thought-provoking Views hat were submitted from all over the world, and impressed with the breadth of opinion offered.

How long should my Views be?

We’re not looking for a book-length responses: A good paragraph or two will be plenty.

I’ve submitted a View, but I’d like to change it. Is that possible?

When you send us your View, we will review it and possibly make small changes – mainly this is to harmonize grammar, correct any spelling or typographical errors, and so on. We won’t touch the content in any way. We will then send you a preview link so you can see the revised version and give your approval. Only after you OK this version will it be released for publication to the Panel. So yes, you do have the chance to modify your original View.

Can I submit a View anonymously?

Yes. The approval procedure is the same, but we will not include your name when the View is published.

How much time do I have to respond?

From start to publication, each Panel will take about a month to put together. The invitation includes a deadline, after which we won’t be able to include your View.

I’d like to participate, but I don’t have time. Can I still be an Expert on another Panel later?

Yes of course! The invitation offers you an option of turning down the chance to take part in this particular Panel, but still be invited to be part of a future Panel.
