PARIS | VingCard, the leading supplier of hospitality security solutions worldwide, has been selected by Atlantis, The Palm, Dubai to install its, Signature online electronic-locks throughout the property. VingCard Online gives Atlantis an exceptional way to facilitate reliable two-way communications from individual electronic locks through the resort’s network to a central database.

Atlantis, The Palm, opening in November 2008 is a joint venture between Kerzner International and Istithmar PSJC — part of The Palm Jumeirah complex, the smallest of three Palm Islands (Palm Jumeriah, Palm Jebel Ali and Palm Deira) located on the Jumeirah coastal area of Dubai in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). The unique man-made Palm Jumeirah Island is built in the shape of a date palm tree and consists of a trunk, a crown with 17 fronds, and a surrounding crescent island that will form a water-breaker. Atlantis, The Palm will feature the Royal Towers with a total of 1,539 rooms, with The Palm Monorail and three lane underwater tunnel linking the resort to The Palm Jumeirah and mainland Dubai.

VingCard Online will give Atlantis the ability to transfer data from each door lock to a central location, relocate guests or extend stay times without the need to re-encode their keycards, and detect doors-left-ajar and immediately cancel lost staff cards without visiting the locks, Metivier said. The solution also features sequential and roaming intruder alarm, low battery/maintenance needed notification, instant staff locator and an all-inclusive event list in real-time.
