DUBLIN - Otel today published The Practical AI Strategy Guide for Hotels: 2027 edition, a free guide to help hotels choose their first AI project and prove its value in four weeks. Otel is an AI layer that sits above the systems a hotel already runs and reads them as one hotel.

The guide is for hoteliers, including general managers and revenue managers, who have been asked to put an AI line in their 2027 budget and aren’t sure where to start. Hotel teams hear about AI every week. What they’re missing is a first step they can defend.

At Otel’s sessions this year, more than 90% of the hoteliers in the room said they use tools such as ChatGPT, Copilot or Claude in their day-to-day work. Fewer than 5% work in a hotel with a defined AI strategy, though more than 95% plan to have one by 2027. That’s a show of hands, not a formal survey, but the pattern held in every session. A 2026 Canary Technologies survey of more than 400 hotel technology decision-makers points the same way: 85% plan to put at least 5% of their IT budget into AI this year.

Inside the guide:

  • A four-step method: find where the repetitive work is, choose one use case, run a four-week pilot alongside the way your team works today, then decide from the evidence.

  • Three hard stops that prevent wasted spend: no pilot goes ahead without an internal owner, a traceable data source and a clear measure of success.

  • Ten ready-to-use templates: practical worksheets to fill in with your team.

I asked a room of 50 general managers who had an AI strategy for 2027. Not a single hand went up, even though everyone in the room uses ChatGPT. So it isn’t a knowledge problem. It’s knowing where to start. Pick one workflow, give it an owner, prove its value in four weeks and keep a person on every decision.

About Otel AI

Otel AI is the AI layer for hotels. It connects the systems a hotel already runs, from the PMS and revenue system to payroll, purchasing, point of sale and guest reviews, and reads them as one hotel. Overnight, Otel’s agents work across departments: they check bookings and competitor prices, flag labour costs and supplier price rises, and have the day’s brief ready before the team arrives. Nothing is migrated or replaced, and Otel can be live within seven days. Founded in Dublin in 2025 by Paul Ryan and Nikhil Patil, Otel works with independent hotel groups across Ireland, the UK and mainland Europe. It is ISO 27001 certified, GDPR compliant and holds a SOC 2 Type II report. Learn more at otelai.com.
